Tier Explanation

This tier list analyzes the top decks in the current metagame, based on tournament results, online ranked stats, and my expert evaluation. We've categorized archetypes into four tiers by relevance, from strongest to weakest within each tier. Winning decklists and top-performing ranked builds inform these rankings.

Tier 1: These are the meta's top contenders, consistently topping events and boasting the highest ranked win rates. For the best chance at consistent tournament success, these are your go-to decks.

Tier 2: These are strong decks capable of securing tournament wins and high ranks. While not as consistently dominant as Tier 1, success often hinges on strong piloting, matchup knowledge, and potentially a favorable meta or some luck for consistent top finishes.

Tier 3: These decks remain relevant in the meta and can achieve occasional wins, even against higher tiers. However, their overall consistency is lower, making significant tournament success less likely without specific advantages or innovative play.

Dark Horse: Decks in this tier show high win rates in their limited appearances, indicating strong potential. However, they lack significant play in tournaments or ranked, making their overall viability uncertain. Watch these for potential meta breakthroughs.

It comes as absolutely no shock that EB02-010-monkeydluffy has taken the Western meta by storm the moment it landed! Echoing its dominance in the East, this leader maintains a solid positive win rate even while being the most popular deck on the scene. This speaks volumes about its inherent power and adaptability. Moreover, numerous refined deck lists are emerging with impressive win rates, making it a prime choice for climbing the ranked ladder.

The featured deck list this week is particularly interesting, showcasing a heavier emphasis on tech cards. It notably includes 2 copies of the impactful OP05-077-gamma-knife alongside a robust 3 copies of OP08-036-electrical-luna, suggesting a strategic approach to handle specific meta threats.

Black Marshall D. Teach

Featured Decklist Winrate: 64.3% over 70 games

Overall Winrate: 50.5% 2000+ games

Favored Matchups: Red Shanks, Black Lucci, Yellow Enel, Green Bonney

Unfavored Matchups: Green Purple Luffy, Red Green Smoker

Standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the dominant EB02-010-monkeydluffy at the apex of this tier list is the formidable OP09-081-marshalldteach! While facing an uphill battle against the most played deck in the meta, OP09-081-marshalldteach impressively maintains a balanced overall win rate. Furthermore, certain optimized deck lists are showcasing remarkably high win percentages, signaling the archetype's latent potential in the right hands.

The featured deck list this week highlights an interesting tech choice: a full four copies of OP05-086-nefeltari-vivi! The rise of cheap blockers seems to be a developing trend in the EB02 meta, likely as a strategic response to the aggressive pressure exerted by EB02-010-monkeydluffy.

Red Purple Luffy

Featured Decklist Winrate: 65.5% over 58 games

Overall Winrate: 51.9% over 1000+ games

Favored Matchups: Green Purple Luffy, Red Shanks, Yellow Enel

Unfavored Matchups: Black Lucci, Green Bonney, Red Green Smoker

Leading the charge in Tier 2, we have an unexpected contender shaking up the early EB02 meta: ST10-002-monkeydluffy! What makes this leader particularly interesting is its favorable standing against both of the Tier 1 titans. This gives it a significant edge in the current landscape and positions it as a very viable choice for players looking to challenge the top dogs.

The featured decklist for ST10-002-monkeydluffy this week showcases a clear strategic focus, running a full four copies of ST21-017-gum-gum-mole-pistol. This deliberate inclusion likely aims to efficiently deal with the problematic EB02-035-sanji-pudding.

Yellow Enel

Featured Decklist Winrate: 59.7% over 135 games

Overall Winrate: 50.7% over 1000+ games

Favored Matchups: Black Lucci, Red Green Smoker

Unfavored Matchups: Green Purple Luffy, Red Shanks, Black Marshall D. Teach, Red Purple Luffy, Green Bonney

Despite the significant blow from the banning of EB01-059-kingdom-come, OP05-098-enel seems to be finding a decent spot in the early EB02 meta. This version of OP05-098-enel is using some interesting new cards, like the strong boss characters EB02-052-enel and OP10-112-eustasscaptainkid. It also uses EB02-054-sanji for defense and card cycling, as well as OP06-111-braham to counter stages.

However, it's still early in this meta, and we need to see if OP05-098-enel can stay consistent. It might struggle because it has bad matchups against the top two most played decks right now. The next few weeks will show if OP05-098-enel can adjust and overcome these challenges to secure its place in the EB02 meta.

Red Shanks

Featured Decklist Winrate: 60.3% over 63 games

Overall Winrate: 50% over 3000+ games

Favored Matchups: Black Lucci, Yellow Enel, Green Bonney, Red Green Smoker

Unfavored Matchups: Green Purple Luffy, Black Marshall D. Teach, Red Purple Luffy

Despite being the second most played deck in the format, OP09-001-shanks is currently in a tricky spot, barely keeping a 50/50 overall win rate. It looks like just being popular isn't enough for consistent wins. However, many players on the ranked ladder are trying out control-focused decklists. These builds use cards like the strong OP09-021-red-force together with ST15-002-edwardnewgate to remove the units EB02-010-monkeydluffy plays in the middle of the game.

Even with these changes, OP09-001-shanks still has bad matchups against both OP09-081-marshalldteach and EB02-010-monkeydluffy. This means that even though the control style might help, the deck might have trouble reaching the very top of the EB02 meta.

Green Bonney

Featured Decklist Winrate: 55.4% over 56

Overall Winrate: 50.2% over 900+ games

Favored Matchups: Green Purple Luffy, Yellow Enel, Red Purple Luffy, Red Green Smoker

Unfavored Matchups: Red Shanks, Black Smoker, Black Marshall D. Teach

Ah, my personal favorite! OP07-019-jewelry-bonney presents an interesting prospect in the EB02 meta, boasting favorable matchups against several key Tier 1 and Tier 2 contenders. This makes it a potentially strong pick, provided players can skillfully navigate its less advantageous pairings. For this week's spotlight, I've chosen to feature a rather unique decklist that has surprisingly shown a respectable win rate! This intriguing build incorporates the Fishman package, utilizing OP06-033-vander-decken-ix and the powerful OP06-035-hody-jones.

While this particular Fishman-centric list is more of an enjoyable variation that caught my eye, I would still generally recommend the more standard and refined builds for OP07-019-jewelry-bonney for consistent competitive play. For those interested in exploring the more optimized strategies, you can check out my Green Bonney Deckbuilding Guide, where I featured the list I utilized in the EB02 format during its Eastern release.

Featured Decklist Winrate: 61.6% over 86 games

Overall Winrate: 55.4% over 600+ games

Favored Matchups: Green Purple Luffy, Yellow Enel, Red Purple Luffy

Unfavored Matchups: Red Shanks, Black Lucci, Black Marshall D. Teach

OP05-002-belo-betty represents a fascinating development in the EB02 meta, suddenly surging in relevance following the set's release in the East. Its rapid pace and early aggression make it a notable counter to the increasingly popular multicolored leaders. While its current play rate in the West might be relatively low, early data suggests significant potential, with multiple decklists demonstrating impressive win rates. This indicates that as players discover and refine OP05-002-belo-betty strategies, its presence in the Western meta could very well increase.

Black Rob Lucci

Featured Decklist Winrate: 55.8% over 86 games

Overall Winrate: 49.3% over 2500+ games

Favored Matchups: Green Purple Luffy, Red Purple Luffy, Green Bonney, Red Green Smoker

Unfavored Matchups: Red Shanks, Black Marshall D. Teach, Yellow Enel

Despite maintaining its position as the most popular Black deck in the format, OP07-079-rob-lucci is currently facing an uphill battle, struggling to achieve a positive overall win rate. This likely stems from its unfavorable matchup against the prominent OP09-081-marshalldteach, a significant hurdle in the current meta landscape.

However, despite this overall negative win rate, I'm still placing OP07-079-rob-lucci in Tier 2. This decision is based on the fact that there are still well-performing decklists emerging for the archetype, demonstrating its potential in the right build and in the hands of skilled pilots. Furthermore, OP07-079-rob-lucci retains advantageous matchups against several other decks within the top tiers, suggesting it can still be a strong contender in specific meta pockets.

Blue Nami

Featured Decklist Winrate: 69.6% over 56 games

Overall Winrate: 53.2% over 700+ games

Favored Matchups: Green Purple Luffy, Red Shanks, Black Lucci, Yellow Enel, Red Purple Luffy, Green Bonney

Unfavored Matchups: Black Marshall D. Teach

OP03-040-nami is emerging as a truly intriguing prospect in the EB02 landscape, showcasing surprisingly favorable matchups against nearly all of the current top-tier decks. With the notable exception of OP09-081-marshalldteach as its primary unfavorable pairing, this deck appears to be exceptionally well-positioned against the established meta. Interestingly, OP03-040-nami largely flew under the radar during the Eastern EB02 meta, suggesting that some astute ranked players in the West might have uncovered a hidden gem!

The featured decklist for OP03-040-nami this week largely adheres to standard builds, with one potentially insightful inclusion: OP02-067-arabesque-brick-fist. This card choice could very well be a targeted tech aimed at bolstering the deck's resilience against aggressive strategies.

Yellow Vegapunk

Featured Decklist Winrate: 61.4% over 101 games

Overall Winrate: 51.2% over 600+ games

Favored Matchups: Green Purple Luffy, Black Lucci, Black Marshall D. Teach, Red Purple Luffy

Unfavored Matchups: Red Shanks, Yellow Enel, Green Bonney

OP07-097-vegapunk emerges as another intriguing dark horse in the EB02 landscape, demonstrating advantageous matchups against a notable number of top-tier decks. The integration of the newest Egghead addition, EB02-056-vegapunk, appears to be providing the deck with a significant boost to both its defensive capabilities and overall consistency.

Interestingly, the most successful iterations of OP07-097-vegapunk in this early meta are diverging from the more control-oriented builds of the past. Instead, these promising lists are focusing on a swarm strategy, aiming to aggressively overwhelm opponents with a relentless barrage of early-game units.

Red Green Smoker

If you see this for too long, please disable AdBlock and try to reload the page...

Featured Decklist Winrate: 53.3% over 105 games

Overall Winrate: 50.1% over 900+ games

Favored Matchups: Green Purple Luffy, Black Marshall D. Teach, Red Purple Luffy

Unfavored Matchups: Red Shanks, Black Lucci, Yellow Enel, Green Bonney

OP10-001-smoker has certainly seen some representation in the early EB02 meta, but it's currently struggling to establish a consistent foothold. The deck is barely maintaining an even 50/50 overall win rate, and even its top-performing lists haven't achieved significant success thus far. This inconsistency likely stems from the deck's somewhat polarizing nature, heavily reliant on drawing the key card OP10-030-smoker on curve.

Despite these current struggles, I still believe OP10-001-smoker possesses considerable untapped potential. Its ability to utilize powerful removal options like ST21-017-gum-gum-mole-pistol, a strong answer to mid-game threats, coupled with its access to a wide array of valuable tech cards available in both Red and Green.

Green Purple Lim

Featured Decklist Winrate: 52.5% over 61 games

Overall Winrate: 50.2% over 600+ games

Favored Matchups: Green Purple Luffy, Red Purple Luffy, Green Bonney

Unfavored Matchups: Red Shanks, Black Lucci

The aggressive version of OP09-022-lim, while quite popular in the West, hasn't yet demonstrated significant results in the early EB02 environment. However, innovative deckbuilding is emerging, with the most successful lists currently incorporating OP01-116-artificial-devil-fruit-smile. This interesting inclusion allows for both deck searching and thinning, while also providing valuable information about the cards present in the player's life pile.

Blue Black Usopp

If you see this for too long, please disable AdBlock and try to reload the page...

Featured Decklist Winrate: 67% over 103 games

Overall Winrate: 57.3% over 400+ games

Favored Matchups: Black Lucci, Red Purple Luffy, Green Bonney

Unfavored Matchups: Green Purple Luffy, Black Marshall D. Teach, Yellow Enel

OP10-042-usopp is showing significant promise in the early EB02 meta, boasting impressive overall and specific decklist win rates. However, due to the relatively small sample size of games played, it's positioned in the Dark Horse tier for now, a testament to its potential that requires further observation.

The featured decklist this week showcases a potent finishing strategy, utilizing both OP04-090-monkeydluffy and OP04-093-gum-gum-king-kong-gun as its primary win conditions.

Red Roronoa Zoro

Loading...
If you see this for too long, please disable AdBlock and try to reload the page...

Featured Decklist Winrate: 54.9% over 51 games

Overall Winrate: 50.2% over 400+ games

Favored Matchups: Green Purple Luffy, Red Shanks, Black Marshall D. Teach, Green Bonney

Unfavored Matchups: Black Lucci, Yellow Enel, Red Purple Luffy

OP01-001-roronoa-zoro is surprisingly absent from the early EB02 meta's top play rates, but I believe it harbors significant untapped potential. Its aggressive playstyle, combined with its access to powerful removal like ST21-017-gum-gum-mole-pistol, makes it a threat that could emerge as the meta develops.

This week's featured decklist for OP01-001-roronoa-zoro showcases an interesting deviation from the more common Animal-themed builds. Instead, it heavily emphasizes Straw Hat characters. This strategic choice likely aims to enhance the consistency of searching for and drawing key cards like ST21-017-gum-gum-mole-pistol.
